As an illustrator, photographer and graphic designer, the realm of painting offers the most true possibilities for spontaneous expression in the most revealing and personally enriching ways.
About my work
First, drawing as a young child without lifting the crayon off paper and eyes shut - the resulting curves and lines intersected, converged and a thousand possibilities emerged - it was magic. Images took shape in ways I could not have planned or imagined. It is that play of instinct and intuition that guides my exploration of painting which always informs, surprises and questions.
Now, working shape, color, line, movement and play of materials make up the evolution of my process. That impulsiveness in process is what excites and pushes me to pursue new experiences it offers.
This year I will be participating at Sudbury Open Studios on October 15 & 16, at Grange Hall in Sudbury Town Center. Through the end of September, the Sudbury Artists Association is holding a members show at the former Thunder store, next to CVS.
